ITV shares surge on talks with Sky on £1.6bn sale of broadcast arm

(Sharecast News) - ITV on Friday confirmed it was in preliminary discussions regarding a possible sale of its broadcasting business to Comcast-owned Sky for an enterprise value of £1.6bn, sending shares in the company surging by a fifth.

(Sharecast News) - Broadcaster ITV but backed its expectations for the year on Thursday but said total advertising revenue was set to drop 9% in the fourth quarter amid an "uncertain" UK outlook.
