Week ahead: AJ Bell and Frasers Group among those reporting

(Sharecast News) - First-half results are due from Peel Hunt on Monday, while Tuesday will see the release of half-year results from Discoverie and full-year numbers from Victrex.
On Thursday, full-year results are due from AJ Bell, SSP and Future, a trading update from Balfour Beatty, and half-year results from Baltic Classifieds, Mike Ashley's Frasers Group and Watches of Switzerland.
As far as Frasers is concerned, AJ Bell analysts Russ Mould and Danni Hewson said: "The shares are not that far away from 2022's all-time high but, again, a soggy UK economy and an extra £50 million in costs thanks to changes in national insurance contributions and minimum wages in the 2024 Budget have dampened sentiment a bit.
"To mitigate the impact of those issues, Frasers has its Elevation Strategy, whereby it is branching out into more premium brands and chains; a drive to expand overseas; an efficiency programme; and also, the Frasers Plus buy now pay later service.
"The first-half results for the six months to October are due on Thursday 4 December, and ultimately, analysts will then see if chief executive Michael Murray sticks to his forecast for the full-year to March of adjusted pre-tax profit between £550 million and £600 million. That compares to £560 million a year ago."
Across the pond, third-quarter earnings are due from cloud-based software company Salesforce on Wednesday.
Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: "Salesforce heads into next week's third-quarter results after a difficult start to the year and guidance that points to slower growth ahead.
"The broader software sector has been under pressure, with investors worried about AI-driven disruption. But Salesforce is positioning itself to lead the next phase of enterprise AI through its Agentforce 360 platform and the recently completed acquisition of Informatica.
"Markets are looking for Salesforce to report around $10.3 billion in revenue, with 9% growth. While near-term sentiment remains cautious, optimism could build as AI becomes a more significant part of the story. The key challenge is delivering a material improvement in either growth or margins - a difficult task for a mature business, even with an AI tailwind."
On the macro front, Monday sees the release of UK consumer credit, mortgage approvals and net lending data for October, while the S&P Global manufacturing PMI for November will also be released.
The preliminary release of eurozone CPI for November is out on Tuesday, and UK services PMI for November is on Wednesday.
