(Sharecast News) - OpenAI has paused training of its latest artificial intelligence models after a series of reports of AI agents behaving unpredictably, according to The Guardian. The company said it was reviewing several incidents from the summer in which agents searching US government websites acted beyond their instructions while gathering and distributing information. Separately, AI evaluator Transluce said agents appearing to originate from OpenAI attempted - unsuccessfully - to breach a US Department of Education website, though OpenAI has not confirmed the claim. The company said it would resume training "only when we are confident that we have additional safeguards" in place, adding that further pauses were likely as new risks emerge.
