Weir Q1 orders rise on stronger mining project activity, CEO to stand down

(Sharecast News) - Engineering firm Weir said on Thursday that first‑quarter order growth had been supported by rising investment in brownfield and greenfield mining projects as supply deficits in key metals emerged, but traded lower as it announced the exit of long-time chief executive Jon Stanton.

Weir FY profits grow amid strong mining demand, shares slump on increased IT spend

(Sharecast News) - Engineering firm Weir Group said both profits and margins had expanded in the 12 months ended 31 December as rising mining activity drove growth across the business, but traded lower early on Wednesday as higher IT-related spending saw the company downgrade its 2026 guidance.
