Global Petroleum completes final LiDAR data from Juno

By Josh White

Date: Wednesday 08 Jan 2025

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Global Petroleum announced the completion and delivery of final data from airborne LiDAR surveys for the Juno project in Western Australia on Wednesday, including high-resolution digital terrain model (DTM) mosaics at 0.5 and one metre resolutions, along with detailed digital imagery of the ground surface.

The AIM-traded firm said the LiDAR data, processed and levelled to ground control points, achieved spatial accuracy of less than 20 centimetres.

It said the imagery and DTMs provided precise depictions of surface topography, enabling the identification of subtle geological and topographic features critical for exploration planning.

Global explained that LiDAR, a remote sensing method using laser pulses, was instrumental in generating detailed three-dimensional models of the terrain.

The data would be integrated with aeromagnetic and gravity surveys to refine drill targets for its initial exploration programme at Juno.

In addition to the LiDAR data, the company said it had collected ground gravity data, which was currently undergoing final processing.

Global said it expected to receive the gravity data shortly, and would provide further updates as it advanced exploration efforts at Juno.

"We are excited about the rapid progression of the Juno Project, particularly with the final delivery of LiDAR data, which marks a significant milestone in our exploration strategy," said Global's chief executive officer Omar Ahmad.

"Fully capitalised for the Juno Project, we are now accelerating our work programme.

"Alongside our world-class joint venture partner, Callum Baxter, we are committed to leveraging innovative technology and his expert insights to define high-impact drill targets."

Ahmad said the company was now "eagerly awaiting" the completion of detailed ground gravity data processing, which would further enhance its ability to refine drill target selection.

"As a board, we remain resolutely focused on advancing all our projects, guided by the best interests of our shareholders, who are the driving force behind our strategic decisions and long-term vision for growth."

At 1343 GMT, shares in Global Petroleum were down 9.09% at 0.2p.
