Cohort completes acquisition of Aussie firm EM Solutions

By Josh White

Date: Friday 31 Jan 2025

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Cohort announced the completed acquisition of EM Solutions on Friday, following earlier announcements in November and January.
The AIM-traded firm said the Australia-based EM Solutions, which designs and manufactures satellite-on-the-move terminals for defence and government customers, would now operate as Cohort's seventh stand-alone business within its communications and intelligence division.

It said EM Solutions also supplies broadband radio transceivers and RF subsystems, including low-noise receivers and high-power solid-state transmitters, to both defence and commercial clients.

The board said the acquisition would strengthen Cohort's position in satellite communications and advanced RF technology, enhancing its capabilities within key global markets.

"We are delighted to welcome EM Solutions to the Cohort group," said chief executive officer Andy Thomis.

"This is a significant step for Cohort, broadening the group's strong naval systems service offering, bringing new customers and enhancing the global footprint of the combined business.

"Together, we look forward to serving EM Solutions' customers, current and future, in the years to come."

At 1104 GMT, shares in Cohort were up 1.09% at 1,162.5p.
