LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - South West Water owner Pennon Group said on Friday that chief executive officer Susan Davy has decided to retire.
Davy was appointed CEO on 31 July 2020, having served on the board as chief financial officer since 2015.
Pennon said that after more than 18 years with the group and nearly 30 years in the water sector, Davy has decided "that the time is right" for her to hand over to a new leader.
The board will now conduct a formal process to appoint a successor. Davy will continue as CEO during this time and will leave "in due course", ensuring a smooth and orderly transition, Pennon said.
Chairman David Sproul said: "Susan has been a passionate supporter of the sector over many years and has led Pennon through its transition to focus on UK Water.
"The board and I are incredibly grateful to Susan for her unwavering leadership, as she has navigated the group through some challenging external headwinds to emerge stronger and more resilient as we look ahead to the next regulatory period."
