US close: Stocks rise as Trump's tariffs come into force

(Sharecast News) - Major indices closed higher on Friday as stocks reclaimed most of yesterday's losses.
At the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.47% at 44,175.61, while the S&P 500 advanced 0.78% to 6,389.45 and the Nasdaq Composite saw out the session 0.98% firmer at 21,450.02.
