Europe close: Shares flat as US inflation readout lifts odds of Sept rate hike

(Sharecast News) - European shares closed flat on Wednesday as traders mulled a hotter-than-expected US inflation readout for July that strengthened the odds of a rate hike from the Federal Reserve next month.


The pan-regional Stoxx 600 index finished just 0.02% higher at 656.64.
