Geo starts electrical geophysics at Juno Project

(Sharecast News) - Geo Exploration announced the start of electrical geophysics fieldwork at its Juno Project in central Western Australia on Monday, marking the next stage in its search for large intrusion-related gold systems.
The AIM-traded firm said the programme included both induced polarisation (IP) and electromagnetic (EM) surveys aimed at detecting subsurface chargeable and conductive bodies that may host precious and base metal mineralisation.
It said the IP survey, using a dipole-dipole configuration, would help identify resistive and chargeable anomalies typically associated with IRGS-style mineralisation.
EM work, scheduled to follow the IP campaign, would be used to model electrically conductive zones and further refine drill targets.
Geo said the combination of IP and EM data would allow it to distinguish between mineralisation types, such as disseminated versus massive sulphides.
Once complete, the new survey data would be integrated with the company's existing magnetic and gravity models to define locations for its first drill holes on the project.
Data collection and modelling were expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
The Juno Project is fully owned by Geo's Australian subsidiary, Juno Gold.
"We are moving quickly at Juno and it is exciting to have commenced electrical geophysics," said Geo's joint venture partner Callum Baxter.
"The IP and EM work will enhance our subsurface information based on existing magnetic and gravity models at the project.
"Results of this work will rapidly culminate in the generation of locations for our first drill holes at Juno for our maiden drill programme."
At 1131 BST, shares in Geo Exploration were down 6.3% at 0.13p.
