Premier African Minerals reports progress at Zulu

(Sharecast News) - Premier African Minerals reported continued progress at its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project in Zimbabwe on Friday, as the second phase of the plant test run proceeds on schedule.
The AIM-traded company said the modifications outlined in earlier updates were being implemented, with optimisation and commissioning work ongoing.

It described the process as typical for the current stage of development, and noted that results remained encouraging.

Support from a senior original equipment manufacturer (OEM) team, alongside the input of recently appointed managing director Graham Hill, was expected to aid further improvements.

A decision on whether to proceed with the purchase of a secondary spodumene flotation section was expected within the next week.

Meanwhile, Premier said it was advancing longer-term solutions for two outstanding plant issues: the replacement of OEM-supplied sorters deemed unfit for purpose and the completion of the tantalum recovery circuit.

The company said it had received interest from several parties regarding potential tantalum offtake and possible financial support for the circuit.

"We are generally pleased with progress and remain as confident as ever in the final successful conclusion of this phase," said chief executive George Roach.

At 1222 BST, shares in Premier African Minerals were down 11.38% at 0.03p.
