FTSE 100 movers: Fresnillo rallies on record gold prices, Flutter heads south on Kalshi's parlay-style product launch

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was up 0.51% at 9,475.65 in afternoon trade on Friday.
Fresnillo shares were up today due to record-breaking gold and silver prices. The precious metals miner surged as investors continued to pile into safe-haven assets, with gold trading just below record highs seen earlier in the week. Fresnillo's share price has already tripled in 2025, and was up another 15% over the past week.

Bunzl shares were in the green after analysts at Goldman Sachs upgraded the distribution specialist from 'sell' to 'neutral' on Friday, pointing to a more balanced risk/reward profile after a steep share price drop this year.

Bookmaker Flutter Entertainment traded lower after prediction market platform Kalshi launched a parlay-style product seen as a direct challenge to features offered by Flutter's FanDuel, prompting fresh scrutiny across the sports-betting sector.

Tesco shares were also lower after the retailer beat full-year profit forecasts but guided to lower operating profit for FY26, citing intensified competition and cost pressures. Tesco plans to reinvest more heavily in price leadership strategies such as Aldi Price Match and Clubcard Prices, which could weigh on margins.
