(Sharecast News) - Croda International reiterated its full-year outlook on Thursday after the speciality chemicals group posted a jump in third-quarter sales.
Updating on trading, the blue chip said revenues had risen by 4.4%, or by 6.5% on a constant currency basis, to £424.7m in the three months to 30 September.
Growth was led by an 8.1% jump in sales in Croda's largest division, consumer care, to £241.6m, alongside a 5.9% uplift in life sciences to £133.8m.
Croda said: "As anticipated, customer demand in the third quarter was similar to the second, with sequential sales ahead in a more challenging market environment.
"Sales growth was driven by an improvement in beauty actives, continued double digit sales in fragrances and flavours and further recovery in crop protection."
Looking to the final three months of the year, Croda warned that the challenging trading environment and low order book visibility was set to continue.
Sales are also traditionally lower in the weaker fourth quarter, while currency movements were likely to have a £5m adverse impact on second-half profitability.
However, Croda said: "Despite this, the combination of good year-to-date sales growth, and delivery of anticipated cost savings means that our full year 2025 outlook is unchanged.
"We continue to expect to deliver £265m to £295m group adjusted profit before tax."
