(Sharecast News) - The German economy stagnated in the third quarter, according to flash estimates from the federal statistical authority on Thursday.
Figures for the second quarter were revised upwards to a 0.2% contraction from 0.3%, it added.
In a separate statement, Destatis said the seasonally adjusted number of people in employment therefore fell slightly (by 21,000) compared with the previous month.
This was the fifth consecutive decrease, with month-on-month employment also declining by an average of 15,000 people each month in the period from May to August 2025.
