Shuka completes fourth diamond drill hole at Kabwe ore body

(Sharecast News) - Shuka Minerals said on Thursday that it had completed the fourth diamond drill hole at the No.2 ore body at the Kabwe zinc mine in Zambia, with the shallow hole intersecting the western extension of the ore body.
The AIM-traded mine operator said KBDD04 returned 6.86% zinc over 13.0 metres from 106.60 metres to 119.65 metres down hole, based on portable XRF readings, with individual readings reaching up to 53.0% zinc.

The company said the results would be verified through laboratory analysis and testing.

Chief executive Richard Lloyd said he was "delighted to report yet another positive drill result with excellent grades", despite the hole being terminated slightly shallower than expected after encountering historic mine workings.

Shuka said it had started a fifth deep hole targeting the ore body at 450 to 500 metres depth.

At 1117 BST, shares in Shuka Minerals were up 1.47% at 3.45p.
