(Sharecast News) - Conroy Gold said it had completed the first phase of drilling at its Clontibret gold project in Ireland, with five holes returning results that strengthened evidence of mineralisation continuity along strike and at depth while identifying a significant Buddingtonite alteration zone associated with hydrothermal gold systems.
The AIM-traded company said assay results were still pending from deep drill hole CGC-25-007, which targeted the stockwork zone below the historic Tullybuck antimony mine, while phase two drilling had begun to test the extension of the Orlock Bridge Fault between the Clay Lake target and Clontibret.
It also said it continued to advance plans for a dual listing on the TSX Venture Exchange to broaden access to North American investors and capital, while remaining in discussions with prospective strategic and financial investors over future project funding.
"The successful completion of our phase one drilling programme marks a significant milestone for the company," said chairman John Sherman, adding that the results "continue to build our confidence in the scale and grade potential of the Clontibret gold system."
At 1026 BST, shares in Conroy Gold and Natural Resources were down 10.97% at 6.9p.
